Back Online! …and Grossed Out

After a very long and busy week that culminated in moving into our new house this weekend, I am very glad to finally rejoin the online community.

Being too tired to turn on my laptop kept me away from Twitter, Facebook, and the awesome outdoor writers I enjoy following. Many nights last week I would stare at my laptop, think about all of the great stuff I was missing, and fall asleep before I could do anything.

With the move over, and at least half of the boxes unpacked, I finally found the energy to turn on my computer tonight and start catching up. Turns out I had missed some great fishing reports from Bass Pundit and Jody’s Fishing, a great story about a fishing trip from Brookfield Angler, and several great posts from the always entertaining Owl Jones.

When my eyes got tired from reading I drifted over to YouTube and happened to find this video. I couldn’t help it, it grossed me out. Enjoy :)

Normally this would be a Website Wednesday, where I get to share a neat website with those if you kind enough to read my blog.

Unfortunately, things are a little hectic this week so my blogging is on hiatus until next week.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and gets out fishing!

Cheers :)

Website Wednesday: Journal Of A Minnesota Angler

This week’s featured website is one of my absolute favorite blogs to visit - Journal Of A Minnesota Angler.

The first thing I noticed when visiting this blog is the outstanding layout. This site is very well-designed with a nice flow. You can easily navigate throughout the site and discover all the great information contained within.

The motivation behind starting this blog is best explained by MNAngler himself:

A lot of pro anglers have blogs, but I didn’t see many from a recreational/amateur point of view. I knew I would be learning a lot in the coming years and wanted to pass on my learning experiences to weekend fishermen who couldn’t afford $2000 fish finders or 10 fishing poles to keep in their $50,000 boats. The Journal of a Minnesota Angler was born.

I blog about my fishing adventures, but also try to give some tips and hints for the weekend angler. I’ll also post reviews when I see something us non-sponsored folk could find useful.

I have had a great time reading this blog. The most recent post, Animals Died So That We May Live, was a thought-provoking post on remembering where our food comes from. It has generated a variety of comments from readers.

The main focus of this blog is on fishing, and you will have a great time reading the entertaining, well-written stories about MNAngler’s fishing adventures. In Ice Fishing 301: Enticing Ice Crappie With The Help Of Electronics you will discover helpful tips for your next ice fishing adventure (hopefully that will not be for many months!) and the many product reviews will help you make decisions regarding your fishing gear options.

Add Journal Of A Minnesota Angler to your RSS list today and be rewarded with a great read every time.

Cheers!

Why Do I Blog?

I blog for the sheer narcissistic joy of the glory of having millions of people read my all-important thoughts and…

Oops.  Those are my secret thoughts that are never to be seen or heard. I really should delete those words.

All joking aside, when the OBN writing prompt asked “Why we blog” I did have to stop and think about it.

I’m pretty new to the blogging world – this blog was only started in February. I have started blogs in the past but would make two posts and forget about them. So what made me think I should try again? Why did I even feel like I should? Continue reading

The Argosgirl Chronicles Has Joined Outdoor Blogger Network

Outdoor Blogger NetworkA few months ago, before I even thought of starting this blog, I was tipped off to a great online resource called Outdoor Blogger Network (OBN).  On this one website you can find access to a plethora of blogs about fishing, hunting and the outdoors. The quality of writing and photography will keep you entertained for hours.

For bloggers this amazing resource provides photo prompts, writing prompts, gear review opportunities, helpful blogging tips and a forum where you can interact with other bloggers.

I am very happy to now be a part of this great resource and hope everyone spares a moment to check it out. OBN can be found at www.outdoorbloggernetwork.com.
